The Delegate of the Government in Melilla, Sabrina Moh, today conveyed her congratulations to the entire educational community on the occasion of the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. Likewise, he wanted to thank you “for your effort, your vocation and your commitment to improving the quality of education in our city”.
The head of the Government Delegation stressed that “every beginning of the course is an opportunity to continue growing, innovating and strengthening equal opportunities”, and has valued the work carried out on a daily basis by the management teams, the teachers, as well as the support staff in the centers.
Meeting with directors and new challenges of the course
Last Friday, the Delegate of the Government, together with the team of the Provincial Directorate of Education, headed by its Director, Elena Fernández Treviño, held a working meeting with the directors and directors of the educational centers of the city.
The meeting served to welcome the new course, introduce the new educational inspectors and address organizational issues and educational support programs, such as PROA+ and Territorial Cooperation Programs. The latter are reinforcement programs in Language and Mathematics that are implemented for the first time this school year.
Likewise, it was informed of the agreements with the Autonomous City that will allow the strengthening of educational services with 75 technicians and caregivers, the school nursing agreement and the expansion of school canteens, with the implementation of the dining room at the CEIP Encarna León.
First quota of 382 teachers
On the other hand, the Delegate wanted the best of luck to the trainee teachers who are joining today, having just a few months ago passed the selective processes for the Teachers’ Corps and the Secondary School Teachers’ Corps.
In addition, it has valued the incorporation of 382 teachers, called in the first allocation of vacancies, “which will allow, as every year, to better meet the needs of the centers and guarantee the educational quality”.
Moh stressed that this measure, along with the increase in human and material resources promoted by the Ministry of Education, “responds to the will to continue strengthening the educational system in Melilla”.
The Delegate also recalled that the award process will continue in the coming days with the second and third calls, which will complete the final quota.
Commitment to education
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in the city has reiterated the commitment of the Executive of the nation to education, especially in Melilla, where the objectives are “to continue improving the quality of education, put more resources at the disposal of the centers and give structural answers to their needs.”
With this beginning of the course, Moh has insisted on the importance of “working together for a quality public education, inclusive and with more resources”. In the words of the Delegate, “education is the best investment for the future and we will continue to work with teachers, management teams and families”.
