The Multipurpose Service Center for Elderly People of the Imserso in Melilla, popularly known as the Nursing Home, gave yesterday afternoon the starting signal to the Christmas program with the lighting of the Christmas lighting and the performance of the choir Jesús Cautivo.
The Territorial Director of the Imserso, Verónica Aznar, has accompanied the Director of the center, Ibrahim Molina, the workers and users on such a special day, and has highlighted the significant number of activities that have been scheduled for the coming weeks on the occasion of Christmas.
Aznar, who has defined this Christmas period as “very special” for both residents and workers and family members, has stressed that the objective is for the residence “to be a center, a home”, and that during these dates it has “that warm, Christmas and special atmosphere” that accompanies the celebration of Christmas.
In this regard, he thanked the center’s team for organizing an extensive program of activities designed for the elderly to “enjoy and share special moments”, including meetings with relatives and various performances.
The Territorial Director has expressly recognized the choir as well as the educational centers that will participate in the Christmas activities, highlighting the value of intergenerationality, “that magic that is formed between an older and a child”, even more intense at this time, and has thanked the Provincial Directorate of Education and the educational centers for their involvement and continued collaboration with the residence.
Aznar also wanted to highlight the dedication of the center’s staff, highlighting “the work and effort” they carry out daily and the added effort involved in the preparation of all these activities. “Fix it, prepare it, get everyone down so that they enjoy and so that we can share moments as unique as the one that starts today in the residence,” he said.
