The Government Delegation has today welcomed a minute of silence in revulsion of the male murder of Ainhoa, just 19 years old, in Murcia on the 26th of this month.
So far this year, 33 women have been murdered in 2025 by their partner or ex-partner and 17 children have been orphaned. Since 2003, 1,328 women have been killed by gender violence and since 2013, 65 children have been killed by gender violence against their mothers and 486 children have been orphaned by gender violence in Spain.
The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, has shown the rejection of this crime: “Ainhoa, a young woman as young as 19 years old who was beginning to live when she saw her life cut short, when she was murdered at the hands of her partner,” she said.
The maxim representing the Government of Spain in our city, accompanied by those responsible for different areas of the General Administration of the State, State Security Forces and Bodies and personnel of the Delegation itself, wanted to send condolences to Ainhoa’s family and friends.
The head of the Government Delegation recalled that gender violence “is not a problem of the victim but of society, which requires policies of equality, firmness and unity to eradicate male violence.”
From the Ministry of Equality, through the Government Delegation against Gender Violence, it is recalled that telephone 016 and the other services of attention and advice are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and are accessible to all people.
Also, in an emergency situation you can call 112 or the emergency telephones of the National Police (091) and the Civil Guard (062). In case it is not possible to make a call and in a situation of danger, you can use the ALERTCOPS application, from which an alert signal will be sent to the police with geolocation.
These means of assistance can be used both by victims and by anyone who knows or suspects a situation of gender violence.
