The first unaccompanied migrant minors included in the relocation procedure derived from the declaration of immigration contingency have already been transferred to the peninsula.
On Wednesday, a coordination meeting took place in the Government Delegation, chaired by the Government Delegate, Sabrina Moh, to finalize the details of the operation and ensure the correct development of the transfers. The meeting was attended by the Director of the Work and Immigration Area of the Delegation, as well as heads of the Superior Police Headquarters, the Civil Guard Command, the Juvenile Prosecutor of the Area of Melilla, the General Directorate of Minors and the Family of the Autonomous City, the Local Police and the Principal Forensic Doctor.
During the meeting, the technical aspects necessary to make effective the first transfers, which correspond to three minors, were specified, thus complying with the procedure established in the Royal Decree in coordination with the host autonomous communities.
Ignorance of the City Government
Given the latest statements by the First Vice-President of the Government, Miguel Marín, and the Councilor for Social Policies, Randa Mohamed, the head of the Delegation has “deeply regretted” that they “do not talk to the technicians, because they show an ignorance and an absolute ignorance of the procedure and the state of situation”.
In the words of Sabrina Moh, “they have not the slightest interest, because despite being invited to the coordination meetings, they do not attend.” “Now, because they are not informed, they themselves are in evidence in front of the Melillense citizens,” he said.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city has stressed that the Delegation continues to work “with rigor, responsibility and sensitivity” to comply with the Royal Decree and guarantee the care and protection of unaccompanied migrant minors, “in a framework of institutional cooperation that requires seriousness and commitment on the part of all the administrations involved.”
