The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU), through the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), will allocate 25 million euros to finance R+D+I activities of Spanish companies participating in international consortia, through the call INNOGLOBAL FEDER 2025.
The call will grant grants to Spanish companies to boost their participation in international R&D&I projects with the aim of strengthening the global projection of the Spanish innovation ecosystem.
The initiative is part of the Transfer and Collaboration Program and the Internationalization axis of the State Plan for R+D+I 2024-2027 and reinforces the strategic commitment of the CDTI to accelerate the transfer of knowledge, expand the innovative perimeter and project national R+D+I in the European Research Area and the large global programs.
Likewise, it is included in the Multiregional Plan of Spain FEDER 2021-2027. In particular, it contributes to the specific objective “Develop and improve research and innovation capacities and assimilate advanced technologies”, from an international collaboration perspective.
INNOGLOBAL 2025 is the gateway for Spanish companies to turn knowledge into competitive innovations in global markets, strengthen their internal technological capacity and contribute to European leadership in strategic areas.
In line with the CDTI Strategic Plan 2024-2027, the call mobilizes resources to extend R&D&I to new companies, raise innovative intensity and project national talent in high-impact consortia, ensuring that each public euro invested translates into growth, skilled employment and beneficial solutions for society.
The deadline for submitting applications will be from August 26 to September 26.
Melilla between established territories
INNOGLOBAL 2025 finances the activity of all types of companies, from SMEs to large companies, with initiatives that are developed in one of the eleven eligible communities and autonomous cities, according to the ERDF Plan: Andalusia, Castilla La Mancha, Extremadura, Ceuta, Melilla, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Castilla y León, Valencian Community, Galicia and Region of Murcia.
The INNOGLOBAL call brings an increase in business technological capital, with a multiplier effect accelerated by the high intensity of aid planned. In addition, ERDF cofinancing ensures that less developed regions can finance projects with a high level of support, promoting skilled employment and opportunities in areas with lower innovative density.
For its part, in terms of knowledge transfer and talent attraction, the interaction with large scientific facilities and foreign partners exposes SMEs to advanced technological standards and facilitates the entry of international research personnel, reinforcing the national critical mass in areas of sovereignty such as quantum photonics, agro-food biotechnology or high-performance computing.
In addition, in terms of sustainability and citizen welfare, the call incorporates the Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) principle, relating to environmental responsibility and sustainability, and a specific criterion of socio-economic and environmental impact (15% of the evaluation) to prioritize solutions that accelerate the green and digital transition.
