The Territorial Director of Imserso, Verónica Aznar, has announced the opening of the deadline for the application of Imserso grants aimed at elderly people, people with disabilities and those in a situation of dependency. These grants are available both to individuals and to entities and non-governmental organizations operating in our city.
As explained by the Territorial Director, the aid amounts to 423,000 euros for Melilla -33,660 euros for aid to elderly people; 118,944 euros for grants to people with disabilities; 100,000 euros for those related to people in situations of dependency; 150,430 euros for entities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in our city linked to disability; and 19,870 euros for entities and NGOs linked to elderly people - and the application period is open until August 4.
Aznar has pointed out that the aid provided by IMSERSO seeks to provide concrete answers to the needs of the elderly and people with disabilities. “By promoting autonomy, they integrate beneficiaries more effectively into their social and family environment,” he explained.
In addition, by improving mobility and facilitating communication, “these aids contribute to greater dignity and well-being, allowing beneficiaries to lead a more independent and active life”.
The grants not only benefit people, but also strengthen organizations working in these areas, empowering them to develop more impactful social projects.
For all these reasons, the Territorial Directorate of IMSERSO in Melilla encourages all persons and entities that meet the requirements to submit their application within the established deadline. “It is a valuable opportunity to access fundamental resources that improve the quality of daily life,” he said.
These grants, he added, reflect the commitment of the Government of Spain to the inclusion and well-being of the most needy citizens. The main purpose of the call is to promote the personal autonomy of the beneficiaries as well as to improve their mobility and facilitate communication, in line with the national strategy of support for people in vulnerable situations.
The grants offered by IMSERSO represent a significant opportunity to improve the quality of life of the beneficiaries. Both individuals and organizations can access these resources, as long as they comply with the requirements established in the official announcement.
Beneficiaries
The IMSERSO directs its grants to three large groups: People over 65 years old. This group includes those who, due to their age, require support to maintain their autonomy and quality of life; people with disabilities - physical, sensory or mental disability that limits their independence in daily life; and people in situations of dependency, that is to say those people who, for various reasons, depend on the assistance of third parties to carry out basic activities.
These groups are priorities in the distribution of aid, ensuring that resources are directed to those who need it most. In addition, organizations working with these groups can also be beneficiaries, contributing to greater effectiveness in the implementation of social projects.
Requirements for individual applicants
To be considered as a beneficiary of these subsidies, natural persons must comply with a series of minimum requirements, such as having resided at least one year prior to the date of application in Melilla; it is necessary to have correctly managed the subsidies or aid received previously, demonstrating transparency in the use of the funds; applicants must not be subject to any of the legal prohibitions that prevent them from being a beneficiary of public aid; having the status of insured or beneficiary of the Social Security System is an indispensable requirement; as well as not having received subsidies for the same purpose in the last four years, unless the new technical aid is complementary to the one granted previously or that the application responds to an aggravation of the state of disability.
These requirements ensure that aid is distributed fairly and efficiently, prioritizing those who really need it and avoiding duplication of benefits.
Submission of requests
It is essential to provide all the required documentation in time and form. This includes application forms, proof of residency, medical certificates, and any other supporting documents.
All the detailed information, the application models and the additional requirements are available both on the IMSERSO website and at the IMSERSO Territorial Address in Melilla where the requirements as well as the required application model are also delivered.
In addition, for better management of the grants, it is recommended to make a telematic appointment, either from a web link or from the same moment in which the request is withdrawn in the facilities of the Territorial Directorate, where they would be helped to manage the delivery appointment.
Help Catalog
The catalog of supports offered to natural persons includes a variety of options designed to improve their autonomy and quality of life, such as functional adaptations of the home, which include modifications to the home to facilitate mobility and accessibility, such as ramps, support bars and adjustments in the bathrooms.
Technical aids, providing devices such as wheelchairs, articulated beds or electronic devices that facilitate communication, contributing to greater independence.
And equipment for mobility and autonomy, which includes the provision of equipment that promotes mobility, such as electric bicycles or scooters, and other devices that promote personal autonomy.
These grants are designed to address the specific needs of each beneficiary, ensuring that they receive adequate support to improve their day-to-day lives.
Entities and NGOs
As for the subsidies that IMSERSO offers to non-profit entities operating in Melilla, these organizations must meet certain requirements to be beneficiaries, such as having their main headquarters in the city and dedicating their activities to support the beneficiary groups; be legally constituted and registered, in addition to not pursuing economic benefits.
But, in addition, organizations must be aware of their fiscal obligations, Social Security and refunds of previous grants, they must demonstrate the necessary experience and means to develop their social projects effectively and it is essential to have managed the previous grants correctly, ensuring transparency and the proper use of resources.
These grants enable organizations to strengthen their efforts and expand the impact of their projects for the benefit of the community.
