The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, has assured that the Melillense citizens are tired of excuses from the Executive of Imbroda and has stressed that “the Melillenses want to have water in their taps”.
The head of the Government Delegation has accused the local government of “manifest incompetence” and “inability to assume responsibility” before the supply cuts suffered by the citizens.
“The reality is that the PP has given an obvious sign of its incompetence,” said Moh, recalling that, when the people were in opposition, they demanded the resignation of the then Minister of the Environment because he was not able to supply the city with water 24 hours a day and, in addition, they promised that, when they were in government, in less than a month and a half we would have mineral water in the taps. “Two years have passed and this is still not the case and, in fact, there are more cuts than with the previous government,” he said.
And all this, despite the fact that the Government of Spain has done a work of 30 million euros to improve the facilities. “Their incompetence is manifest,” he said: “With improvements to the facilities, with an amount of 30 million euros and that we have more cuts than before,” he lamented.
For this reason, he has denounced that the PP is seeking excuses and pointing to other institutions as responsible for the problem. “To cover up this incompetence and this inability to manage something as basic as having water 24 hours a day, we began to look at the Government Delegation, the swamp, whether there is a chalet or not,” he said.
The Delegate has reproached the local government for continuing to act as if it were still in opposition: “They have to take responsibility and, if they are not capable, they have to step aside and leave people who are willing and competent to respond to people’s problems.”
In addition to the water problem, Moh has pointed out that this attitude is repeated in other areas of local management. “They will start to make insinuations, they will start to look to see who they can blame, but what they will have to do at some point is take responsibility, sit down and work seriously for the Melillenses,” he insisted.
