The Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, will travel to Melilla on Thursday accompanied by the Delegate of the Government Against Gender Violence, Carmen Martínez Perza, to address, together with institutional and professional leaders in the field, the actions and resources of the State and the City in the fight against violence against women, especially sexual violence.
Upon arrival, the Minister and the Delegate against Gender Violence will hold a working meeting in the Government Delegation with the head of the institution, Sabrina Moh; the Secretary General of the Government Delegation, Sana Abdeslam; and the Head of the Unit for Coordination against Violence against Women, Laura Segura.
Subsequently, Redondo will attend a meeting of the Interinstitutional Table, in which the different agents involved in the prevention, detection and care of violence against women in the city will participate. This working session will serve to evaluate the measures under way and establish new ways of collaboration and institutional reinforcement.
The visit will continue with a tour of the 24-hour Comprehensive Care Center for Victims of Sexual Violence where the Minister will be able to know at first hand the work of the professional team and the facilities made available to the victims.
The Government Delegate, Sabrina Moh, highlighted the importance of this visit. “The presence of the Minister in Melilla highlights the firm and sustained commitment of the Government of Spain to equality policies and to continue moving forward in the construction of a more just, diverse, egalitarian society and free from male violence,” he stressed.
