The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, has reported that the Government of Spain is going to allocate about 5 million euros for the development of the Employment Plan in the autonomous city this year, as collected by the Official State Gazette (BOE) yesterday.
As explained by the highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city, this item, which will be managed by the local administration, adds to the 26 million euros that the Government Delegation is going to manage this year through two Employment Plans, one of which is already in place.
In fact, Moh has announced that the second phase of this Employment Plan is already about to come out. “In the next few days, the provisional lists of 17 occupations will come out so that, as soon as possible, the 755 workers that remain to be hired can be incorporated.”
Sabrina Moh has highlighted that, with the two Employment Plans of the Government Delegation and the one that will manage the local administration “are more than 30 million euros to be able to offer melillenses an opportunity to be able to join the labor market and, above all, also acquire that experience that is often necessary so that they can be hired later.”
The head of the Government Delegation, in addition, has pointed out that, if we talk about all the active employment policies and the programs that the Government of Spain is implementing, among which are integrated programs dedicated to vulnerable groups, such as women in rural and urban areas, people with disabilities in the regular and protected market, the experiential programs that are executing in Ciudad Autónoma, the Taller Schools, the MUR program… the amount in our city exceeds 36 million euros a year.
Stable employment
In her statement to the media, the Government Delegate also referred to the improvement that is taking place in the quality of employment contracts.
Thus, he referred to the labor reform that “came from the dialogue of social agents and employers and that here, in Melilla, is also having that positive impact. In fact, he recalled that before this reform only 8% of the contracting was indefinite and this has risen to 40% in the city.
But he also recalled that, with this Government, the greatest Offers of Public Employment have come and that, in addition to generating employment, they have resulted in the improvement of public services in Melilla.
