The Government Delegate, Sabrina Moh, held a meeting last night in 061 with officials of this service, Ingesa and Guardia Civil, to establish a contingency plan in case the fall in communications that was experienced intermittently yesterday in the city continued.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city explained that due to the fall in communications suffered in Melilla during yesterday’s day she moved to 061, “to establish a communication channel”.
This was how to act in case some kind of medical evacuation had to occur if we had remained incommunicado with the peninsula as well as how to proceed and contact hospitals in the peninsula in case it was necessary to carry out an evacuation or the possibility of medicalizing another ambulance if that service was necessary.
Reinforcement of troops was also established with both the Civil Guard and the National Police. Thus, the agents of the Benemérita reinforced different areas, such as the vicinity of the CETI, and those of the National Police did the same throughout the city.
In addition, Moh was interested in the situation of vulnerable spaces such as the Nursing Home, the Gámez Morón or the Gota de Leche. “I traveled personally to be able to tell them what to do in case of an emergency,” he explained.
At that meeting, it was agreed to hold a new meeting at the beginning of today, in the event that communications continue to fall, something that fortunately has not happened. Added to this is the fact that there has been no significant incidence throughout the night.
The Delegate has conveyed her gratitude to all the pressures that were serving yesterday, both of State Security Forces and Corps, firefighters, Local Police, 061, 112, Ingesa and, in short, “to all the people who were redoubling services last night so that the status of communications did not affect their work and so that there were no incidents due to the situation of communications.”
