“The Ingesa, from the first moment, got down to work to try to move that shelf from one room to another, or lower 30 centimeters that sign that had to be lowered, which are some of the incidents that make it impossible for the local government to give us that first occupation license. All of that is already in place, in motion, waiting for us to get that license.”
The Delegate of the Government in Melilla, Sabrina Moh, to questions from the media, has explained that the “next step” for the opening of the University Hospital of Melilla is to obtain the license of first occupation by the Autonomous City and, then, obtain the health license so that the Hospital can be put into operation.
“We, meanwhile, are not wasting our time. We are working on the possibility of continuing to bring doctors here to our city,” he said. “The other day we announced the incorporation of these 17 doctors who have gone to both health centers and the Regional Hospital, but we are still working to bring new specialists,” he said, making it clear and optimistic that some of them will be able to join in a short time.
On the opening of the University Hospital, he recalled that its start-up and operation is designed to do so in different stages. “It would not open from zero to one hundred, but we would start with consultations and then gradually increase until the hospital could be in full performance and full operation,” he said.
The Delegate, although she has recalled that she is not in favor of giving dates, especially when the licenses that remain to be granted depend on third administrations, has pointed out the summer as a horizon for the first consultations to be given service.
In any case, Moh has recalled that the new health infrastructure is 7 times bigger than the Regional Hospital and has made it clear that work is being done so that it can be in full performance for the Melillense citizens.
