“There was a commitment from the Spanish Government to work to open customs.” The Delegate of the Government in Melilla, Sabrina Moh, recalled that there have been “many voices, and I speak not only of political parties, but also of associations of entrepreneurs, saying that not a single truck would pass through the border again and, having passed the number that has passed, it is already an achievement”.
As he said, the responsibility and commitment of this Government has been “to open another door to continue growing” and “to respond to a demand that has been occurring since commercial customs closed.”
Moh has valued the opening of the commercial aduna and the recognition as such of it. “We have one more horizon to be able to explode and, from now on, see how the entire commercial situation is developing on the border.”
The head of the Government Delegation, who has referred to this issue to questions from the media, has insisted that the commercial customs “is open so that all entrepreneurs and businesswomen in the city who want to make both imports and exports in this first phase with the agreed merchandise, can do so.”
In fact, just yesterday there was another import of fish from Morocco across the border and it has had all the sanitary controls. “In the first ones, both imports and exports, we wanted to have an accompaniment because it was a new situation, a paradigm shift and, therefore, a commercial customs proper,” he explained.
However, in yesterday’s import there was no announcement because “we understand that this has to be normalized and entrepreneurs have to, following their business criteria, know when they are going to import, when they are going to export…”, he said.
