The Imserso has handed over the diplomas of the Vocational Occupational Training courses of the European Social Fund for people with disabilities to the 70 students who have participated in them, in a closing ceremony that took place this Thursday at the Base Center.
The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh; the Territorial Director of the Imserso, Verónica Aznar; the Inspector of the Provincial Directorate of Education, Antonio Guevara; and the Director of the Base Center, Teresa Rizo, have been the people in charge of delivering the diplomas that recognize the training given.
The programme, funded by the European Social Fund for People with Disabilities, has involved an investment of 151,1069 euros and has involved 28,300 teaching hours. This initiative, which is planned and implemented taking into account the skills of applicants, social context and labour market situation, has an eminently practical approach and is based on the importance of training for entry into the labour market.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city, has stressed that this act of awarding diplomas is the “golden brooch” to the training acquired by the students, and a sample of the effort and commitment that the participants have had throughout the course.
Moh has valued the work of all the people who, year after year, make it possible for this program to develop. In this regard, he stressed that this program “opens doors for incorporation into the labor market, being able to work and have opportunities in our city.”
“It is important that we again highlight all the courses that are done, all the training, the investment is very important, that we invest in this type of training and that we have more and more students,” he said.
Increase opportunities
In fact, he has highlighted the incorporation into the world of work of 4 people and has assured that in short the first recruitments for the Employment Plans 2024-2025 will begin, while recalling that this year an extraordinary Employment Plan will also be developed.
But not only that, the head of the Government Delegation has defended the importance of more places for people with disabilities in the different selective processes. “We need to keep working so that we continue to have more and more opportunities,” he said.
Finally, he took the opportunity to convey his best wishes on the occasion of the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. “Let us hope that it is a month, as always, of hope, of solidarity and above all that we put our minds, our heads and our hearts with those people who are having a hard time in different parts of the world,” he said.
Work, attitude and perseverance
The Territorial Director of Imserso, for her part, has congratulated the students for their involvement and commitment. “Fear is the greatest disability of all and you have shown that you have the strength to persevere and, with it, be able to open a universe of incredible possibilities,” he added.
Aznar, who has influenced the example of these students, has asserted that for his perseverance, attitude and work “you are a reference”, although he has also had words of thanks for the families of the students, to whom he has extended his congratulations.
He also stressed the fact that 4 students were able to enter the labor market, “pending the Government Delegation’s Employment Plans, which always represent an important window of access to the labor market.”
In her speech, Verónica Aznar thanked and valued the great professionalism and good work of all the people who make up the project, “engine of improvement of this center”, referring to the teachers, teaching centers, social workers, occupational monitors, administration staff… as well as the team of the Base Center, the training centers and the Provincial Directorate of Education.
The program has been composed of a total of 7 training activities -Auxiliary Activities in Nurseries, Gardens and Garden Centers; Operations of Recording and Processing of Data and Documents; Installation and Maintenance of Gardens and Green Areas; Basic Operations of Restaurant Bar; Basic Operations of Accommodation Floors; Auxiliary Operations of General Administrative Services; Auxiliary Activities of Warehouse – plus a module of Training and Work Orientation, common to all students.
All these activities have allowed students to obtain the corresponding Certificate of Professionalism accredited by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD). A total of 12 students have obtained the full accreditation of their certification and 31, the partial accreditation.
Program 2025
For her part, the Director of the Base Center, Teresa Rizo, explained this initiative aims to provide students with professional knowledge in relation to the possibilities of access to the labor market within the context of Professional Recovery.
Rizo has advanced that, the next program to be developed this year 2025, will have a budget of more than 176,000 euros and will be aimed at 60 students who will be offered 6 training activities and will provide training and job orientation.
These six courses will be Auxiliary Activities in Nurseries, Gardens and Garden Centers; Recording Operations and Data and Documentation Treatments; Installation and Maintenance of Gardens and Green Areas; Basic Operations of Accommodation Floors; Auxiliary Operations of General Administrative Services; Auxiliary Operations of Commerce; Training and Work Orientation Module – plus a Training and Work Orientation module, common to all students.
