“The Government of Pedro Sánchez is working to continue improving ships and, above all, to continue improving services and tariffs so that Melillense citizens can travel with the best possible guarantees.”
The Government Delegate, Sabrina Moh, to questions from the media has referred to the transport situation in our city. Thus, he recalled the almost 80 million euros for the implementation of the new maritime contract. “A maritime contract,” he said, “that improves the previous one, which already improved the existing one.” And that, as he explained, “the main focus is on citizenship.”
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city, has joined this issue with the approval, in the Council of Ministers on Tuesday, of the application of the Contingency Fund intended to finance credit modifications in the amount of 170 million euros to meet the expenditure related to transport subsidies in Melilla, Ceuta, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands with the rest of the national territory.
“Every time a type of measure like this is approved in the Governing Council they are positive for the city,” he stressed, given that “we talk about a significant amount to continue guaranteeing 75% of the transport bonus.”
This measure to continue reducing costs to the residents of Melilla, “is always a positive thing” and, therefore, has stressed that the Government of Spain “is putting everything necessary on the table, not only to benefit the resident, which of course is our first concern, but also for such important issues as the promotion of tourism in the city”.
As he has made clear, “the promotion of tourism in the city is linked to the improvement in services and the improvement in prices” as the Executive of Pedro Sánchez is doing.
