“The PP always talks about security but it was the government of Mariano Rajoy that reduced the staff of the Police and the Civil Guard by 13,000 personnel.”
The Delegate of the Government in Melilla, Sabrina Moh, an interview granted to the COPE network, recalled that during these 6 years of Government of the Nation, with Pedro Sánchez as President and Fernando Grande Marlaska at the head of the Interior portfolio, “one of the objectives has been to provide the staff with the greatest number of personnel” because the shortage of agents “was not only in Melilla but throughout the country”.
“There were templates whose catalog was far, far below, even that of Melilla, which is currently covered to more than 95%,” explained the head of the Government Delegation.
Precisely for this reason, he pointed out, during this time “we have obtained the largest Public Employment Offers (EPO) for the State Security Forces (FyCSE), and also for the rest of the General Administration of the State”. These OEPs “are the basis from which we have to start and then continue to provide, not only the staff of Melilla, but that of the rest of the territory with the necessary personnel”.
Thus, Moh, has referred to the more than 5,500 places with which the National Police and the Civil Guard are going to expand, thanks to the Public Employment Offer that the Council of Ministers approved last June. “Throughout this time, we have been taking out a significant number of places to increase the number of staff and, therefore, Melilla today has more personnel than when it governed the Popular Party and we will continue to work so that this figure grows, something that results in the security of the Melilla citizens,” he said.
During the radio interview, the Government Delegate referred to the 41 National Police Trainees and 6 Police Trainees, who will strengthen security in the city, as well as the ten Sub-Inspectors, two Police Officers and 43 National Police who have strengthened the staff of the Melilla Superior Headquarters.
