“I am sorry that an act as beautiful as the 180th anniversary of the founding of such an important and necessary body as the Civil Guard is tarnished by Imbroda’s tortious and malicious statements.”
The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, in an interview granted to Onda Cero, referred to the statements made by the leader of the PP accusing her directly of being responsible for having vetoed the act of the Civil Guard Foundation, despite the fact that Imbroda and no other President of the City has ever been invited to this act that is commemorated every year.
“There are 180 years of service since the creation of the body and, in addition, 131 in Melilla. I think that should be the news. Unfortunately it is not, because Mr. Imbroda did not want to”, he lamented.
In fact, Moh recalled that when Abdelmalik El Barkani, of the PP, was the Government Delegate and Imbroda was the President of the City, he was not invited to this event either. “Now I am the Delegate, but a few years ago it was his party that was governing this country and, therefore, the Government Delegate and the President of the City, were of the same political color, and neither did Mr. Imbroda attend this act, he has never attended because he has never been invited,” he said clearly.
PP politicizes acts
Moh has stressed that “I would never give a politically charged instruction in an institutional act, be it the Civil Guard, the Police or any other kind”. Something that, however, the PP does. “They politicize the acts while I, and the citizens have been able to see it yesterday and in all my speeches, such as Patron Saint’s Day of the Benemérita, Patron Saint’s Day of the Police… are very institutional speeches because I believe that it is a day that should not be overshadowed by anything, a day in which we must value and highlight the work they do the 365 days and especially a significant day,” he argued.
Therefore, instead of the statements that Imbroda has made lacking the truth, “I think that, out of respect for the Civil Guard, what I should have done is congratulate the body, rejoice in this type of acts where the only objective was to praise the work they do, to value these 180 years of arduous path of the Civil Guard, and that should have been the only news”.
Of course, Moh has made it clear that there has not been a controversy or a crossroads of statements. “It has been an attack by Mr. Imbroda on the Delegate of the Government and, simply, the Delegation of Government has referred to verifiable facts such as that the figure of the President of the Autonomous City has never been present in this act,” he said.
Therefore, in the face of the controversy that the leader of the PP has sought to create, Moh, once again, wanted to congratulate the Civil Guard “for the enormous work, for the great work, for the dedication, for the commitment and for the loyalty to Spain and the city”.
Always the same format
During the radio interview, the Government Delegate was asked about the fact that other civil authorities have been invited to Ceuta. Moh has made it clear that each Civil Guard Command decides the format and that, in fact, in Melilla “the same format has always been used”.
“President De Castro never attended either because he was not invited and Imbroda, in his previous term, when Abdelmalik El Barkani was Government Delegate either,” he recalled. However, “at that time he did not think it convenient to make such statements and now yes, that is why I say that they are malicious statements for the simple fact of creating a controversy where there should not be one.”
Moh has explained that, as in the period of El Barkani and previous Government Delegates, it is an act that the Civil Guard solemnly celebrates, without civil authorities except that of the person who holds the title of the Government Delegation, as responsible for the State Security Forces and Corps in the territory. Something verifiable because you can simply throw away a newspaper library and check it out.
