The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, explained that there are “many attempts to enter”, by sea to our city and that, in summer, they increase. However, he has pointed out that, thanks to the professionalism of the Civil Guard, “entries through this route are minimal”.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city, to questions from the press, has referred to the statements made by the Councilor for Citizen Security, Daniel Ventura, in which he spoke of the increase in the entry of unaccompanied foreign minors (MENAs) to swimming.
“The State Security Forces and Corps (FyCSE) are acting with all the professionalism in the world,” he said, despite the fact that, as he pointed out, “this is a complicated job.”
“The result that can be seen is that the inflows are minimal in this way,” he insisted and referred to the reinforcement for this type of action, the coordination work between FyCSE and the increase in personnel for the control of migratory flows, especially by sea.
The Delegate has pointed out that the statements of the Citizen Security Advisor remind him of what happened in 2018, when Moh acceded to his office and he requested many measures “when we had just arrived”.
However, it has contrasted what has been done throughout this time and the fact that there has been a very significant decrease not only in maritime entries but also in the number of MENAs in the city.
Something, he insisted, that responds to “a work carried out with all the professionalism of the world” and to the adoption “of the measures that had to be adopted at all times”, so he has shown his total support to the professionals of the State Security Forces and Corps, and especially to the work that the Civil Guard does in this matter.
Ventura incongruence
In her statements to the media, the Government Delegate has acknowledged that the statements made by Councillor Ventura have attracted much attention because, at the Local Security Board, the Civil Guard proposed to him the closure of the road traffic on the South Dyke precisely because of security issues and he opposed it.
“One of the issues that we raised with the controversy of the opening of the South Dam, a decision that the Councilor made without even reporting on it, was the closure of road traffic due to security issues, something he has ignored,” he said.
As Moh explained, the Civil Guard raised this need to be able to carry out security actions, such as the departure of the drone or prior surveillance tasks, but the Security Advisor opposed the request.
“It strikes me that the same Councillor who requests actions from the Government Delegation then opposes the proposals made by the Government Delegation, proposals that are from the State Security Forces and Corps,” he said.
“It seems a little incongruous that he makes these kinds of statements when his actions then go against the measures proposed for security reasons,” he concluded.
