Operation Paso del Angolo (OPE) 2023 that ended this Friday at 00.00 hours leaves a total of 76,812 vehicles and 324,222 passengers that have transited through the city of Melilla.
The first phase of the OPE, the so-called Operation Departure, involved 40,036 vehicles and 166,663 people, being the line linking our city with Almería the most used since there have been 19,265 vehicles and 81,666 passengers who used this route.
The Malaga-Melilla line was the second most used with 14,932 vehicles and 60,857 passengers, while 5,839 vehicles and 24,140 people used the line between our city and Motril.
As far as Operation Return is concerned, it has resulted in 36,776 vehicles and 157,559 passengers. In this second phase the line between Melilla and Malaga has been the most used with 19,950 vehicles and 84,608 people. The second most employed was that of Almería with 12,909 vehicles and 56,620 people, and a total of 3,917 vehicles and 21,859 passengers opted for the Melilla line with Motril.
The OPE 2023 represented 556 fewer vehicles (-0.7%) and 11,714 fewer passengers (-3.5%) than the OPE 2022.
In this OPE, a total of 72 health care and 8 social services have been carried out, which brings the total number of services to 80. This is 150 less (-65.2%) than last year’s OPE.
