The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, has valued that the Government of Pedro Sánchez has repealed the last cut of the PP in Dependence and has raised all the economic benefits, while expanding the hours of care of home help, so that people who need support have it for the necessary time.
“The Government of Pedro Sánchez has repealed the last cut in the PP in Dependence and has increased all the economic benefits, which will benefit more than 750,000 people throughout the country, while expanding the hours of care of home help, so that people who need support have it for the necessary time,” he said.
As explained by the highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city, last Tuesday the Council of Ministers approved the reform of Royal Decree 1051/2013, which regulates the benefits of the System for Autonomy and Attention to Dependency.
“The Executive of Pedro Sánchez thus fulfills the commitment to improve the benefits of the dependency system and definitively ends the cuts that the system suffered in 2012 with the PP Government,” he said.
Thus, thanks to this reform, the three types of dependent economic benefits that exist in our country are recovered and improved: those of care in the family environment, those linked to service and those of personal assistance.
As for the financial benefits for care in the family environment, Moh has reported that they are increased by 17.65%, “so not only is the cut of 14.9% in 2012 of the PP Government compensated, but it is improved”. A measure, he added, that benefits more than 540,000 people in our country, who will see their benefits increased.
In this way, the financial benefits for care in the family environment go from 153 euros per month to 180 euros per month for Grade I; from 268.79 euros per month to 315.90 euros per month for Grade II; and from 387.64 euros per month to 455.40 euros per month for Grade III.
With regard to the economic benefits linked to the service are generally increased by 4.5%, said Moh, who has pointed out that, in the case of the economic benefit linked to the residential care service, the maximum amount of grade II will be equated to that of grade III and that linked to the day center service, the maximum amount of grade I is equal to that corresponding to grade II.
This is due to the fact that the prices of these services are the same or very similar regardless of the degree that the person in a situation of dependency presents.
A measure, he added, that benefits almost 200,000 people who will see their benefits increased.
Finally, the head of the Government Delegation referred to the financial benefits for personal assistance, which are also increased by 4.5 per cent, and in which the amount of grade II is equal to that of grade III, for the same reasons as in service-related benefits.
Thus, he has explained, a beneficiary of Degree II goes from 426.12 euros per month to 747.25 euros per month. A measure that benefits about 10,000 people who will see their personal assistance benefits increased.
Home help
The Government Delegate has also highlighted another aspect of the rule approved yesterday in the Council of Ministers, such as the recovery of the hourly intensity of home help, to reverse the cuts imposed by the PP Government in 2012.
This measure implies that grade I with a maximum of 20 hours is now in the range of 20 to 37 hours; grade II with a maximum of 21 to 45 hours is between 38 and 64 hours; and grade III goes from the range of 46 to 70 hours to between 65 and 94 hours.
Better performance and more hours
The Territorial Director of the Imserso, Verónica Aznar, who has appeared with the Delegate at a press conference, has joined her in welcoming the amendment of Royal Decree 1051/2013.
“The economic benefits are improved, increasing by 17.5%, and the intensities almost double in hours, being able to reach a grade III to 94 hours per month when with the previous decree they were attributed a maximum of 70”, he added.
This fact, he added, “reinforces the new model of people-centered care, implementing that the person can be at home with greater support in care.”
