The Temporary Immigrant Stay Centre (CETI) is hosting today and tomorrow a training day for all its professionals in psychological intervention in emergency situations, taught by the Emergency and Disaster Intervention Group (GIPEC) of the Official College of Psychology of Melilla.
The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, who opened the day this morning together with the Director of the CETI, Pablo José Martínez Rivada, has valued initiatives such as this one because “it gives professionals the tools to face emergency situations because we never know when we are going to find a situation of this nature”.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city has pointed out that it is important for CETI workers to know what GIPEC is and what its functions are, as well as the actions they can carry out in emergency situations and in which significant stress is generated.
Moh has had words of thanks to GIPEC for the organization of this day as well as to CETI for hosting it and to the workers of the center for attending it.
During today and tomorrow, speakers will address the types of stress in emergency professionals, signals and intervention or signals in suicidal ideation and how to help when these signals are detected.
In addition, the day will address communication during stressful situations, whether it is before a suicide attempt, during rescue and first aid, during the shock and reaction phase or giving bad news.
The presentations go hand in hand with Francisco Ildefonso Espínola, Noor Ailin Amar and Carmen Arraras, from the Official College of Psychology in Melilla.
