The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, has announced that work is being done on an extraordinary security device for postal professionals to do their work with guarantees.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city, in a public appearance, confirmed that yesterday evening they have stolen, in several points of the city, electoral documentation from employees of the Post Office who were going to deliver it.
As explained by Moh, the relevant complaints have been filed and are being investigated by the National Police. In addition, it has made progress that the relevant efforts are being made so that these stolen votes cannot be cast.
Moh has announced that a coordination meeting will be held with Security Forces and Corps to establish an extraordinary device to provide security and protection to these postal professionals.
The Government Delegate has shown her solidarity with all the postal workers who were affected yesterday by this event.
Not only that, he has appealed to the citizens because, beyond the security device that is going to be put in place, “there is the individual responsibility that translates, in the end, into collective success.”
“I ask the citizens to live up to the circumstances, we are in a society, we are in a democratic country in which everyone can exercise their right to vote freely,” he stressed.
Therefore, he has urged that “we be aware of the importance of elections of this nature and that we do not enter into these issues, which in addition to being illegal, are unpleasant”.
Moh has recalled that, in addition to the injured people, this type of event damages Melilla in general. “We have to be an example and these practices do not make us look good,” he said. He has therefore appealed to the citizens to be an example of good practice and to have a calm election.
