Social worker Ibrahim Molina is the new Managing Director of the Polyvalent Center for Elderly People of the Imserso, popularly known as the Nursing Home.
It was announced by the Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, in a public appearance together with the Secretary General of the Imserso, Amelia García; the Territorial Director, Verónica Aznar; and the social worker, Emma Moralejo; who has welcomed and congratulated her for overcoming the selective process.
Moh, who has made public the support of the Government Delegation to the new director-manager, has recalled that the Government’s ultimate goal is to continue making progress in improving the quality of residents and employees who provide services at the Residence.
The Territorial Director of the Imserso, for her part, has assured that “it is a special day” since “we begin a stage in which we will continue working for the improvement of the Residence”.
Aznar, in her speech, has valued the work done by Ana María López Cano as acting director, “who has worked throughout this time with a lot of impetus, a lot of professionalism and heart.” “We have formed a great team, Ibrahim is coming to join,” he said.
The new Managing Director has recognized that he begins a major professional challenge “with great enthusiasm, with a lot of energy, with a lot of strength, with many commitments, with a vocation”.
In addition, he does so by returning to his hometown. “Coming back in this way is very exciting and I hope to give everything I have in my hands and make the most of it and keep on adding,” he said.
Although he has asked for some time to get to know the center, residents, relatives, and workers to make a thorough diagnosis, he has advanced that he will implement the new model of central care of the person. “It is a model endorsed by the European Council, which worked very well in the Nordic countries, they have already been implemented in many residential centers in Spain,” he explained.
“Melilla, and specifically this Residence, cannot be left behind, it has to be at the forefront of the best care of our elders,” he said.
