The Delegation of the Government of Melilla, once again, has opened its doors so that citizens know at first hand the work that is done from this institution as well as the work that public employees do.
Within the Open Administration Week, the Delegation has enabled both today and tomorrow for Vocational Training (VET) students from the Higher Degrees of Administration and Finance, Computer Science and Laboratory of the IES Leopoldo Queipo (Tuesday) and the CIFP Reina Victoria Eugenia (Wednesday) to tour the facilities and see the day to day of public employees.
“Last year we carried out this initiative with entities that worked with vulnerable groups and this year we wanted to focus it on VET degrees that are taught in this city and that have a close link with many of the work carried out here,” explained Government Delegate Sabrina Moh.
The head of the Delegation has valued initiatives that students can know about each of the units and the areas that make up the Delegation, as well as talk to those responsible for each of them and also to the staff of the same.
“We believe that it is an interesting activity and that it is an exercise in transparency,” he said, but also so that these young people have a first contact with the Administration and know that they can work in it.
Visit and workshops
The Government Delegate accompanied by the Secretary General of the Government Delegation, Sana Abdeslam, and the Head of the Unit Against Gender Violence, Laura Segura, welcomed them.
Next, Abdeslam has explained the areas of competence for which the Delegation is responsible and has carried out an exhibition on how to exercise participation in public affairs along with the projection of a virtual guided visit to the Transparency Portal and participation in the prior consultation procedure in the Transparency Law, with the aim of its dissemination and participation.
After the Secretary General, it was the turn of the Head of the Unit against Gender Violence, who spoke to them about protection in their field, and with whom she held a workshop in which a practical assumption has been raised on how to act in a possible case of gender violence, focusing on the resources made available to victims by the General State Administration.
The students have made a guided visit by the Delegation to the different services: General Secretary, General Registry, Office of Foreigners, and Health Area. Specifically in the area of Health they have carried out a second workshop in which a practical explanation of the analytical identification of toxic substances and an implementation of the use of Individual Protection Equipment (PPE) has been carried out.
In addition, agents of the National Police for the area of Foreigners have explained the procedure followed, how their applications work or how fingerprints are taken.
