- Another company from Madrid, 2Eyes Vision, will receive more than 300,000 euros in conjunction with ACE 53, S.L.U to improve eye health.
- Innvierte, an initiative of the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), contributes, through participation in investment vehicles and co-investment, to the growth of innovative technology-based companies.
The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, through the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), has invested more than 1.2 million euros in June to promote the development of innovative and sustainable projects in Madrid. These investment operations, which are carried out through the Innvierte initiative, have materialized through two channels. On the one hand, more than 1.2 million euros will be allocated, through the investment commitment in two companies in Madrid, through these co-investment operations:
• NEXT-GEN LEATHER, S.L. (Madrid). You will receive 948,000 euros. Through applied biotechnology and synthetic biology, it develops new biomaterials as an alternative to animal damage-free leather that, in addition, address urgent global challenges, such as the circular economy and local production. The investment is made with BEABLE INNVIERTE KETS FUND, F.C.R.
• 2Eyes Vision (Madrid). You will receive 315,000 euros. This technology-based company, with origin in the CSIC, allows the patient before a cataract or presbyopia operation, to experience how he will see with different intraocular lenses. The investment is made with ACE 53, S.L.U. A project that is supported by numerous scientific articles. Born as a spin-off, this company addresses very prevalent eye pathologies such as presbyopia, which affects almost 100% of the population over 45 years of age, and cataracts, whose prevalence is estimated to double with 230 million affected people by 2050.
Second way
The second investment route has been carried out through venture capital financial instruments, specifically in an investment vehicle worth 294,000,000 euros that stays in a company in Madrid
• NAZCA AEROSPACE & DEFENSA I, F.C.R., managed by NAZCA CAPITAL, SGEIC, S.A. (Madrid), will invest in defense, security and aerospace sectors, with special focus on companies that develop dual-use solutions (civil and defense). The commitment of the CDTI Innovation is 294 million euros.
Investments during 2025
Since January 2025, the CDTI Innovation, through Innvierte, has closed co-investment operations in 39 companies with a commitment of 67.82 million euros, and has closed investments in 5 investment vehicles with a commitment of 577.5 million euros.
Innvierte
Innvierte is an initiative whose objective is to promote business innovation by supporting venture capital investment in technology-based or innovative companies. This program is implemented through the closed-ended collective investment company Innvierte Economía Permanente SICC S.M.E., S.A., self-managed and subject to the supervision of the National Securities Market Commission and of which the CDTI is a single shareholder.
To date, the CDTI has committed 2,661 million euros in 61 investment vehicles, which have invested in more than 609 companies, and through its co-investment line has directly committed an amount of 718 million euros in 190 companies. Innvierte is part of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2021-2027, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2020. This Strategy contains the objectives, reforms and measures that must be adopted throughout the field of R+D+I in order to boost its growth and impact, and is one of the pillars on which the design of the Government's R+D+I policy for the coming years is based.
