- Telecare and home help are consolidated as the most common professional services
- In the last five years, the total benefits of the System have grown to 277,850 in the region
The Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030 has published on Tuesday the second installment of the SAAD Panel, which analyzes the evolution of the main indicators of the System of Autonomy and Attention to the Unit. The new report, which corresponds to the second quarter of 2025, points out that, in the Community of Madrid, the total benefits of SAAD amount to 277,850 (as of 30 June 2025).
The benefits offered in homes and in the closest environment, which include benefits such as tele-assistance, home help or day and night centres, already account for more than 58% of the total.
Tele-assistance and home help are also the most common technological and professional services in the System of the Unit, also in the Community of Madrid (with 88,474 and 54,786 benefits, respectively).
Another of the resources that Derechos Sociales has pointed out as keys to reducing the weight of traditional institutional environments are day centers, an alternative that in the region amounts to 18,310 benefits.
This confirms the trend, which also occurs at the national level, of a care model that is evolving towards more personalized services that are offered in nearby areas.
However, residential care, which in the Community of Madrid amounts to 24,793 benefits, continues to play a relevant role in the system as a whole, since this modality continues to be a necessary option in certain circumstances, and its improvement is key in the process of changing the care model. Social Rights is promoting the evolution of residential centers towards more homey and personalized environments, with the aim of guaranteeing quality care and respectful of the will and preferences of people.
Main indicators of SAAD
The second installment of the SAAD Panel has also collected the main indicators of general evolution of the System that led to the previous edition. Data from the second quarter of 2025 confirm that the Systemcontinues to expand its coverage and improve its responsiveness.
In the month of June 2025, the number of people who are cared for in the System (people with recognized degree of dependency and PIA with benefit) reached 198,437 people in the region. The increase represents a growth of 7.6% compared to June 2024.
