- In June, Francisco Martín Aguirre met with the Official College of Social Work (COTS), the Official College of Psychology of Madrid (COP), Hostelería de España and Noche Madrid and representatives of the United Left and Podemos Madrid.

The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, continued in June with his agenda of meetings with social actors, key sectors and political groups to ensure safe environments against sexual violence in all areas through unity and shared commitment.
Accompanied by the head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women, Eva Corrales Melero, she has held five new meetings this month to address and prevent a problem that is experiencing an upward trend in recent years in the Community of Madrid. Although crime in the region continues to fall, crimes against sexual freedom have increased by 8.8%, according to the Crime Balance of the Secretary of State for Security of the Ministry of the Interior for the first three months of the year. This data is related to the reduction of the “dark figure”, by advancing in awareness and confidence for women to denounce this type of aggression.
In this context, on June 3 the delegate met with the Governing Board of the Official College of Social Work of Madrid (COTS), with the aim of collecting an assessment and sharing on the increase in reports of sexual violence in the region. Among other topics, the role of social workers in the care of women victims, the legal framework in force, the different approaches to male violence in the administration or the dissemination of the new Regulation on Foreigners were analyzed.
The importance of social intervention also focused the meeting held on June 9 with the Official College of Psychology of Madrid (COP) in which proposals have been put together to improve care, awareness and prevention; in addition to dealing with sexual violence exercised by children and young people and new social determinants, such as access to pornography at younger and younger ages. The COP was attended by Dean Timanfaya Hernández Martínez and Vice Dean Silvia Garrigós Tembleque, who presented the delegate of the College’s first Code of Ethics and an institutional badge.
On June 10, Francisco Martín Aguirre met with representatives of Hotel Management in Spain and Night Madrid, the Association of Night Leisure Entrepreneurs, to whom he thanked for their collaboration and willingness to be part of the solution.
Finally, this week he has had meetings with representatives of United Left and Podemos de Madrid that deepen in the purpose of maintaining a path of dialogue, coordination and joint action against a violence that cannot be normalized.
These meetings are in addition to those held in May with María Luisa Carcedo, president of the 9th State Council section and with Lorena Morales, spokesperson for the Equality Committee of the socialist group in the Madrid Assembly, the FAPA Giner de los Ríos and specialized units of the National Police (UFAM) and Civil Guard (EMUME)
This is the second edition of this round of meetings that last year led him to receive, among other social actors and institutions, the Federation of Young Women, the Association of Women Lawyers Themis or the Federation of Associations for Assistance to Victims of Sexual and Gender Violence, as well as publicists such as Laura Roquetas or the Moroccan Navy.
