The Government Delegation in Madrid joins the celebration of the Open Administration Week, which this year is held from 19 to 25 May, with several activities including the open day that it has organized for Monday, 19 May, at 11:00 a.m., and which invites all citizens who wish to participate.
The attendees will have the opportunity to know more about the work and the procedures carried out by this body of the Peripheral Administration and about its headquarters, the Palace of the Marquises of Borghetto, for which they will make a guided tour.

More planned activities
This year, the central theme chosen by the Government Delegation to articulate its programming is the New Regulation on Foreigners. Related activities include the following:
- May 12: talks on the New Regulation on Foreigners with social entities.
- 13-14 May: talks on the New Regulation on Foreigners with consulates and embassies.
- May 19: presentation, coinciding with the entry into force of the New Regulation, of the New Face-to-face Service with prior appointment for the Immigrant that will be launched by the Office of Foreigners on Silva Street.
On the other hand, between the 20th and 23rd of May, different visits have been scheduled:
- Visit to the Border Control Post of the Barajas airport with a group of students to know what their inspection work consists of.
- Visits to the Madrid Command of the Civil Guard and the Superior Police Headquarters to learn about the work of the FFCC in the region.
- Meeting of the Government Subdelegate with elderly people to learn about the work carried out by the Delegation.
- Meeting with students to publicize the work carried out by the Delegation.
Open Administration Week
This initiative, promoted worldwide by the Alliance for Open Government (based in Washington), aims to organize events to bring Public Administrations closer to the citizens based on the principles of transparency, accountability, citizen participation, public integrity and collaboration.
Spain has been part of this alliance since its foundation in 2011 and is the General Directorate of Public Governance, with the collaboration of the Open Government Forum, which is responsible for coordinating and promoting this multilateral initiative in which more than 76 countries, 104 regional and local governments and hundreds of civil society organizations participate.
