At the national level, the Ministry of Industry and Tourism has provisionally awarded a total of 53.2 million euros to 37 projects submitted to the second call of the PERTE Chip within the project promotion section of the microelectronics value chain. The beneficiaries belong to 11 autonomous communities. Some of the projects are:
In disruptive technologies applied to microelectronics, the IDEADED project, based in Barcelona, which has obtained 4.7 million euros for the development of transistors.
In terms of security and cryptography, CIPHERBIT, with a project benefiting more than half a million euros oriented to digital security and cyber defense.
In technologies with high potential for the defense and aerospace sector, the ALDAKIN project, with more than 300,000 euros of subsidy to provide microelectronics solutions for critical components in aeronautics.
In the field of manufacturing strategic materials for semiconductors, FLUORINE DERIVATIVES, with a project in Cantabria that has received more than 6.6 million euros for the semiconductor industry.
In the field of virtual intelligent computing tools applied to the optimization of microelectronics, the project of MULTIVERSE COMPUTNG, based in Guipúzcoa, which has benefited with more than 4 million euros.
And in the development of disruptive materials, the DRAGON ELEMENTS project aims to create a universal factory of elements that integrate graphene in opto-electro-mechanical applications, and which has received funding close to 3 million euros.
The PERTE Chip aims to strengthen the design and production capabilities of the microelectronics and semiconductor industry in Spain from a comprehensive perspective and promote national and EU strategic autonomy in this sector.
