The State Research Agency, an agency under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, has published the Proposal for a Provisional Resolution of the call for 2024 grants to encourage research consolidation. In this call, Madrid has benefited from 16 projects, with a total funding of 6,304,209 euros.
These grants are part of the State Human Resources Program and aim to strengthen the research career in Spain, allowing scientists to consolidate their lines of work within the Spanish System of Science, Technology and Innovation.
The Madrid institutions that have received funding are:
• Universidad Complutense de Madrid: 4 projects
• Autonomous University of Madrid: 4 projects
• Carlos III University of Madrid: 2 projects
• Rey Juan Carlos University: 1 project
• Center for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research (CIEMAT): 1 project
• Foundations and institutes of health and technological research: 4 projects
These grants, granted by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, will help strengthen the scientific leadership of Madrid and promote the development of key projects in various areas of knowledge.
At national level
The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has allocated a total of 41.9 million euros to this call, benefiting 221 researchers throughout Spain.
The grants are aimed at encouraging the creation of permanent places, facilitating the start or consolidation of research lines and improving the scientific infrastructure through the adaptation of spaces and laboratories. The funded projects address strategic areas such as climate change, the fight against cancer and water management, among others.
The Government’s commitment to the consolidation of the research career seeks to prevent the flight of talent and strengthen the Spanish scientific fabric.
