The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, has co-chaired today with the mayor of Coslada, Ángel Viveros, the Local Security Board of the municipality.
It has proceeded to the signing of the ‘Protocol of collaboration and coordination between the state security forces and local police forces for the protection of victims of domestic and gender violence’ of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, a previous and necessary step to achieve the full integration of the Local Police of Coslada into the VioGén system.
The Government Delegation is currently holding talks with several municipalities to ensure that their local police officers renew or integrate into this system to combat gender-based violence and, in this way, to involve their local police in its follow-up for more effective protection of victims.
Currently, there are already 37 municipalities in Madrid whose local police collaborate fully with the State Security Forces and Corps within the framework of the VioGén system for monitoring women victims of gender violence. The government delegate’s goal is to get everyone back on board within a year.
Crime data
In addition, the Board has taken stock of the latest data on this subject from the city, which are once again positive, being 20 points below the average in the region.
For this reason, they have received the congratulations of the delegate, who has highlighted that they are a good result of the work carried out by the National Police in collaboration with the Local Police, both present at the meeting. “Coslada is a safe city in a safe community,” he said.
The special security device prepared on the occasion of the festivities of San Isidro, which will take place from May 10 to 19, and which will cover all those acts that take place during them, has also been exposed.
