The subdelegate of the Government in Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, visited today the Parador de Chinchón, in which the Government of Spain is going to invest a total of 861,471.20 euros in rehabilitation, maintenance and beautification actions from the Recovery Plan financed with the Next Generation EU funds.
Prior to the visit, Trinidad has met with the mayor of the town, Juan Antonio Vera. Together with him and the director of the Parador de Chinchón, Nieves Montisi, Pilar Trinidad has reviewed the planned actions, which include: the conservation and restoration of the street wall of plots and eaves; a landscaping project with species adapted to climate change in the gardens; and the monumental lighting of the exterior, the patio/cloister and the gardens.
These works have already been tendered, and the deadline for the submission of tenders was closed on April 2. The forecast is that the proceedings can begin before the end of the year, after the contract is awarded and signed.
This investment program in the historical heritage of the Paradores network is part of the Modernization and Competitiveness Plan of the tourism sector or component 14 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain, and is managed by Turespaña.
For its part, Paradores has already carried out some reforms, substitutions and changes in the decoration of a lower amount.

Thanks to this funding, the Parador de Chinchón also now has a Conservation Master Plan. It is a document that carries out a study from different points of view of the property (historical, constructive stages, changes of use, etc.) which includes a study of the uses and functions for better conservation by proposing a programme of short-, medium- and long-term actions.
These documents allow an in-depth knowledge of the building and its needs, as well as prioritizing the actions necessary for the best conservation of the buildings considered Asset of Cultural Interest, a tool that allows a planning of future actions and helps in the development of conservation works by the detailed knowledge of the building.

During her previous meeting with the mayor, the deputy delegate raised the advisability of the Local Police of Chinchón joining the VioGén system of protection of victims of gender violence.
He also recalled that local schools can participate in the Master Plan coordinated by the Government Delegation to receive talks from Civil Guard agents on topics of interest to young people that help improve coexistence in schools and institutes.
