- The town was one of the pioneers in being part of the VioGén System but did not renew its permanence due to lack of staff of the Local Police
The government delegate to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, received today the mayor of El Escorial, Antonio Vicente Rubio, to analyze the situation of the town, especially in terms of security.
The councilor was accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Vanesa Herranz Benito and José Manuel Rubio Escudero, chief inspector of the Local Police.
The delegate stressed that it is a very safe municipality, below the average of all crime rates in the region, with rates of clarification that are increasing. It is true that, like the rest of the country, cybercrime has increased.
Martín has been interested in the situation of the Local Police whose staffing has been reduced for several reasons. The mayor, Antonio Vicente, has indicated that they hope that this staff will be fully recovered soon.
Return of El Escorial to the VioGén System
One of the consequences of this lack of Local Police officers has been the departure of the VioGén System, for which the delegate has expressed his concern. The heads of the City Council have recognized the good functioning of this system, recalling that they were pioneers in being part of it, and have committed themselves to work together with the Delegation to achieve once again the adherence of the locality to this system of coordination against Gender Violence.
The delegate also wanted to offer the councilor the possibility of going to the next Local Security Board.
