The delegate of the Government to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, accompanied by the subdelegate of the Government, Pilar Trinidad, met this morning with Enrique Villalobos, president of the Regional Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Madrid (FRAVM), and with the vocal of the same, Manuel Osuna, with whom he has addressed the issues that most concern the neighbors of Madrid at the moment.
“Today we have started this new round of contacts with political, social and economic agents of the Community of Madrid, and we wanted to start it with the FRAVM because it is the neighbors who have to be at the center of our concerns, who are our main responsibility, to build solutions for their real problems,” said Francisco Martín, delegate of the Government of Spain in Madrid.
Both the Delegation and the representatives of the FRAVM have stressed the need to resume the pact of the Cañada Real and advance in the relocations in the best possible conditions. “We have analyzed in detail the road map that we want to undertake to reactivate the signing of the rehousing protocol in the Cañada Real,” says Martín, “and give a first response to this pressing problem that reflects a lacerating inequality in our region.”
The heads of the FRAVM have agreed with the approach of the Government Delegation, expressed in the speeches at the act of taking office of the subdelegate, pointing out inequality as the greatest problem in the region.
The meeting also addressed security, an area in which FRAVM officials have valued the renovation of the Central District Police Station as “good news”, and have called for it to continue along this line, as well as housing, transportation and social policies.
Greater dialogue and collaboration between administrations
The government delegate has conveyed the commitment of the new team that makes up the Delegation to listen to the neighbors of Madrid and work for social justice. Both parties have agreed on the need to work in the area of social policies and to maintain a good line of dialogue and greater collaboration between all administrations.
On the other hand, Francisco Martín and Pilar Trinidad will hold a meeting this afternoon with the president of the Madrid Federation of Municipalities, Judith Piquet, vice-presidents and other members of the Governing Board of the FMM, within the framework of the conversations that the government delegate is holding with different political and social agents.
