A total of 13,708 is the number of talks given to children and young people from 1252 schools in the Community of Madrid during the 2022-2023 academic year within the framework of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of Security in Educational Centers and their Environments, which represents an increase of 40% compared to the previous academic year:
These are some of the balance figures for the 2022-2023 academic year that have been presented at the follow-up meeting of the Plan that was presided over this morning by the Government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, accompanied by the subdelegate, Elena Bernardo, and in which the Delegation, also the director of the High Inspection of Education, Angel Canales, and the High Inspector, Inés Represa, and the head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women, Eva Corrales, along with them, representatives of the Madrid Police Department,
Most requested topics
Once again, the most requested and taught topic is related to Risks Arising from the Use of the Internet and New Technologies, which brings together (6146 talks), about half of all the talks given during this course (45%), followed by Bullying (3017 talks), which represents 22%. Also noteworthy are the talks on Hate Crimes and Intolerance; Youth Gangs; Equality. No Sexual Discrimination. Gender Violence and Risks Arising from Alcohol and Drug Use.
The talk/story called “The Club of Secrets” given by the National Police and directed to the youngest students of Primary has also been very well received.
The talks and other actions of the Master Plan —which include exhibitions, concerts, collaborations in school events and meetings with management or teaching teams— have been developed in all centers that have requested it from a total of 140 localities of the Community of Madrid corresponding to 124 municipalities, which represents 90.5% of the possible municipalities.
About the Master Plan
The purpose of the Master Plan is to provide information to children and adolescents on the main security problems, tools to prevent conflicts and prevent them from becoming victims of all kinds of crimes. The coordination of the Plan is carried out through the Government Delegation, and those who give the talks are members of the Civil Guard, the National Police and the Municipal Police of Madrid.
