- You have recalled that the 30-day deadline to apply for Civil Protection grants is also open
The delegate of the Government delegate to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has confirmed the reception “today” of the request, sent by the Community of Madrid, for the declaration of an area seriously affected by a civil protection emergency of the areas affected by DANA, and has assured that they will give “immediate” transfer of the same to the ministries involved.
On his second visit to the town of El Álamo after the passage of the storm, on this occasion accompanied by the Councillors of Presidency and Environment of the Community of Madrid, Miguel Ángel García Martín and Carlos Novillo Piris, the government delegate has indicated that they will analyze and review the documentation submitted and, “as soon as possible”, will submit the request to the Council of Ministers for approval.
He also recalled that the Civil Protection aid that can be requested by both public administrations and citizens to alleviate the consequences of the storm on their property is already available, and that the deadline for submission is 30 days. To prevent some people from being left without benefiting from them, he explained that the Government Delegation is in contact with all the municipalities affected to facilitate that this information reaches all the neighbors.
To this end, Francisco Martín has held several meetings with mayors and neighbors of the towns hit by the storm in the last week, a round of visits that will continue over the next few days to get to know his needs first hand.
Finally, he wanted to highlight the extraordinary coordination and collaboration that has existed between all the administrations (local, regional and government of Spain) since the event occurred, and that has allowed that, in just one week, in the case of El Álamo, the advances in the tasks of cleaning streets and removing debris are evident. In this regard, he wished to reiterate his gratitude to the Ministry of Defence, which is on the ground with soldiers from the Military Emergency Unit, the Airborne Brigade and the Engineering Command, and to the public companies that collaborate, from the outset, in the recovery of normality in all affected municipalities.
