The municipality of Alcobendas has today held its Local Security Board, which has been co-chaired by the government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, and its mayor, Aitor Retolaza, and in which it has been corroborated that crime data continue with its downward trend in 2023 as they did in the year 2022.
This allows us to talk about “positive” data, according to the government delegate, who has highlighted the particularly favorable evolution of criminal infractions against heritage, “one of the crimes that most concern citizens”.
In the year 2022, compared to 2019, there was a 10.4% decrease in conventional crime, with noteworthy events such as the reduction of 40.5% in crimes against sexual freedom and 53% in burglaries in homes, establishments and other facilities.
In 2023, compared to 2022, the downward trend continues with a 1.6% decrease in total criminal offenses; especially noteworthy is the 38% decrease in robberies with violence or intimidation, a 13% decrease in vehicle theft and a 31% reduction in theft.
Thus, the crime rate in 2022 stood at 44.9 points, 2 less than in 2019.
Francisco Martín, who on his arrival in Alcobendas was received by the mayor and deputy mayor, Rafael Sánchez, signed in the Book of Honor and greeted the spokespeople of the political groups, has put as a “perfect example of good coordination” the one maintained by the National Police and Local Police in the municipality, also in terms of combating gender violence.
