- The city of Madrid concentrates the largest number, with 29 protest marches, which will also take place in a dozen municipalities in the region
The Government Delegation in the Community of Madrid, led by Mercedes González, has learned of a total of 43 demonstrations and rallies throughout the region on the occasion of 8M, International Women’s Day, in the first unrestricted edition after the Covid-19 pandemic. The first of the calls will take place this Friday and most of them, up to 19, will take place on March 8, coinciding with the celebration of this day of reclaiming. In addition to the city of Madrid, with 29 demonstrations and rallies, the marches will also reach other municipalities such as Fuenlabrada, Getafe, Alcobendas, Coslada, San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Alcorcón, San Fernando de Henares, Móstoles, Torrejón de Ardoz and Parla.
Predictably, given the attendance recorded in previous editions, the two that will have the greatest follow-up are those convened in Madrid on the day of Wednesday, March 8. The communication communicated by the Commission 8M, which will start at 19:00 hours from the Paseo del Prado (at the height of the confluence with Juan de Mena Street and the Naval Museum), will cross the Plaza de Cibeles and continue through Alcalá Street and the Gran Vía to the Plaza de España. And the one registered by the Feminist Movement of Madrid, also from 7:00 p.m., that will begin in the Plaza del Emperador Carlos V (Glorieta de Atocha) –directing the queue towards the Ronda de Atocha and the Paseo de Santa María de la Cabeza–, and that will run along the street of Atocha to end in the squares of the Province and Santa Cruz.
