The Government delegate to the Community of Madrid, Mercedes González, today chaired the meeting of the Coordinating and Monitoring Committee of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of Security in Educational Centers and their Environments, which held its second session at the headquarters of the Delegation. The meeting was attended by the coordinator of the Plan and director of the High Inspection Area of Education, Ángel Canales Cerrado, together with representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Community of Madrid, National Police, Civil Guard, Municipal Police of Madrid and the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation in Madrid.
This Commission is the highest coordinating body between administrations and police forces to deploy one of the most effective tools available to minors and schools to deal with many risks to their safety. The Government Delegation in Madrid, as explained by Mercedes González, “wants to give decisive impetus to the Master Plan especially in this course, that of the definitive exit from the pandemic”. The fundamental objectives of the plan are to combat from the classrooms the security risks that threaten minors and to promote confidence and the approach of Madrilenian students to the State Security Forces and Corps.
At the first Follow-up Committee of the Course, held on October 21, the Government Delegation set itself the objective for this year 2022/23 to achieve full normality with more than 11,000 talks, with which more than 300,000 students throughout the Community of Madrid will receive very valuable and first-hand information on bullying, the dangers of youth gangs, the risks of the Internet or on gender violence, among many other issues.
