The three paradores of Calahors and Santo Domingo de la Calzada join the Violeta Points Network in La Rioja, thus joining the list of bodies involved in this initiative promoted by the Ministry of Equality. A Violet Point is an instrument to provide information on how to detect and act in the face of a case of male violence, in addition to attending to, supporting and accompanying the victims.
The delegate of the Government in La Rioja, Beatriz Arraiz Nalda, together with the head of the Unit against Violence against Women in La Rioja, Noelia González Pastor, and the director of the Paradora de Calsalvo, Julia Navarro Machín, presented this morning the adhesion of the Rioja paradores as Violeta Points, a commitment to fight against male violence.
Arraiz Nalda highlighted “the importance of this measure for the creation of safe spaces, where victims will be able to learn about the resources offered by the General Administration of the State to fight against gender violence.”
In this regard, the delegate added that it is essential “to continue extending the protection network and insisting that machismo is negative for the whole society”.
In particular, he stressed that “the accession of the paradores to the Violeta Points Network is a further demonstration of how society as a whole must be actively involved in raising awareness and awareness of male violence in order to put an end to it”.
To this end, the staff of the paradores of La Rioja will receive training from the head of the Unit against Violence against Women, as has already been done with other public employees - Tax Agency, Foreigners and National Institute of Social Security, among others - in order to facilitate their work as Violeta Points.
In addition, the paradores have been provided with all the materials that make up the initiative violet points, consisting of:
- Punto Violeta Guide to Dealing with Male Violence: a guide with information on how to deal with a case of male violence in your environment, as well as resources for the victims themselves. It also includes information on what male violence is, its different manifestations, and how to detect it.
- Materials for establishments, entities, companies, public bodies: posters and stickers with a QR code linked to the Violeta Point Guide to act against Male Violence, which aim to point out that this space is a safe place for victims, where they can receive information and accompaniment if they need it.
- Badges to identify people involved in the fight against male violence: anyone who uses it will represent a gateway for women victims to access the resources they need.
