The Delegation of the Government of Spain in La Rioja, in collaboration with the City Council of Logroño and the Motor Group of Ciudad Amigable, has launched new information days aimed at elderly people to facilitate access to e-government.
This action is part of the state program “The Administration near you”, promoted by the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory with the aim of reducing the digital divide, especially among the most vulnerable groups.
The Multiple Uses Room of the City of Logroño hosted yesterday one of the days. During a participatory presentation of approximately one hour, public employees of the Government Delegation have explained the different ways of identifying themselves electronically with the Administration, the main channels of access to public services and the most common procedures, adapted to the profile of the attendees.
Subsequently, and voluntarily, the attendees have been able to obtain their Electronic Certificate or Permanent Cl@ve to make digital arrangements with bodies such as Social Security, the General Traffic Directorate, the Ministry of Justice or the City of Logroño. In addition, they have been given help to download and install mobile applications such as the Citizen Folder, MiDGT or Tu Seguridad Social, and have been able to resolve their doubts individually or collectively.
Visits of public employees to villages
Through the ‘The Administration near you’ initiative, public employees of the Government Delegation in La Rioja move to different locations in Rioja to provide and manage procedures related to the public services of the General Administration of the State, without citizens having to travel to Logroño.
The Government delegate in La Rioja, Beatriz Arraiz, stressed that “the commitment of the Government of Spain is clear: we want a public administration that is accessible, close and useful to everyone, including the elderly. This program is a concrete sample of how institutions adapt to the real needs of citizens.”
The next May 29 will take place another of the days to continue bringing e-government closer to groups such as the elderly, so that they know what procedures they can carry out from their homes through a computer or their mobile phone.
