The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility will launch on April 11 a new railway service between Logroño and Madrid to improve the connectivity of the region with more places, new schedules and connections with several cities of Castilla y León: Burgos, Miranda de Ebro, Valladolid or Segovia.
The tickets are on sale this Saturday, March 29th, through the different channels of Renfe.
The incorporation of a Renfe S-121 train to the route between both capitals crossing Castilla and León allows the offer to increase by about 80%, which implies 3,400 more places a week. The train will also serve Haro.
Thus, it complements the current connection between the two capitals by La Rioja Baja, which offers around 4,000 places a week and serves the Rioja towns of Calsalvo, Rincón de Soto and Alfaro.
The new service will leave Logroño at 16.12 hours from Sunday to Friday and will arrive in Madrid at 20.15 hours. Otherwise, you will have access to the Madrid Chamartín station at 08.43 a.m. from Monday to Saturday to reach Logroño at 12.41 p.m.
The 121 series are trains with 281 seats of high versatility capable of circulating on high-speed and Iberian wide tracks manufactured by CAF and Alstom. They have a change in width and can operate on two voltages, with a maximum speed of 250 km/h on electrified lines at 25,000 Volts Alternating Current at 50Hz and 220 km/h on electrified lines at 3,000 Volts Direct Current.
