The delegate of the Government of Spain in La Rioja, Beatriz Arraiz Nalda, and the mayor of Lardero, Isabel Barceló Martínez, presided this morning the meeting of the Local Security Board of the municipality held in the City Hall, in which this town returns to crime figures before the pandemic by registering for the fourth consecutive year a decrease in the crime rate, corresponding to the number of known criminal offenses per thousand inhabitants.
Specifically, the crime rate at the end of 2024 stood at 22.52 compared to the previous year’s rate of 26.5. Therefore, it is confirmed that the level of security in the municipality of Riojano has increased.
This figure is below the average for La Rioja of 36.9 and 50.6 for Spain.
Also significant is the increase in the rate of clarification by the Civil Guard of known criminal offenses, increasing from 37.75 in 2023 to 53.33 in 2024.
The number of known criminal offenses last year in Lardero amounted to 255, down from 294 recorded in 2023. In addition, the number of detainees per 1,000 known criminal offenses also increases, from 37.7 in 2023 to 53.3 in 2024.
Another aspect to highlight is that related to thefts in agricultural and livestock farms, since in 2024 none of this type was recorded (8 in 2023).
Coordination and collaboration against male violence
In relation to the data provided by the VioGén System and according to current figures, in Lardero there are 35 active cases that require police protection. Of these, 15 present an unappreciated level of risk, 18 low, 2 medium and no extreme or high risk. In total, there are 20 active orders for the protection of female victims.
