After the event, Pérez opened in the exhibition hall of the City of Logroño the exhibition entitled “The Civil Guard at the service of the citizenry”, which illustrates the history of the Civil Guard, its structure and organization, as well as its specialties and missions.
In his speech, the Secretary of State for Security pointed out that this exhibition “has been designed to bring the history of the Civil Guard, its daily work and its future projection closer to the citizens” and has assured that “with it, it seeks to reaffirm the firm commitment of the Civil Guard in its dedication to others, always from a position of loyalty, impartiality and neutrality, and in defense of legality”.
The exhibition is divided into five parts. In the first one, an explanatory approach is made of what the Civil Guard is through the different specialties. Then there is a panel of façades of more than 2000 barracks throughout the Spanish geography as well as the origin and evolution of the tricorn.
The third part tells the story of the Civil Guard through 10 panels that relate the history of the body from its foundation to the present day. The tribute to the fallen in the act of service and victims of terrorism make up the fourth part of the exhibition. Finally, you can visit a small collection of different uniforms mannequins.
This year, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Air Service and also the Explosives Deactivation and Defense Service NRBQ, there will be two commemorative panels on both specialties. In addition, another panel will be presented for the 35th anniversary of the incorporation of women into the Civil Guard.
