The information bus of the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) will be in Logroño on Saturday, February 25, and on Monday, February 27, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (Avenida de la Paz, 11). The hours of care are from 9 to 14 hours and from 15 to 18 hours.
Citizens who are interested both in knowing the benefit and the status of their application or want to know if they are entitled to it and, if applicable, request it, can go without the need for an appointment.
The bus was launched in October 2022 with the aim of approaching potential beneficiaries of the Minimum Vital Income who have not applied for the benefit and informing them about it.
At the end of January, the IMV reached 3,953 households in La Rioja in which 11,194 people live, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security.
This benefit, which is paid by the Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty, since of the total number of beneficiaries residing in La Rioja, 44.8% are minors (5,021).
According to these data, in 2,332 households the benefit holder is a woman and, if the total number of beneficiaries is taken into account, 53.6% are women (6 173).
Profile people attended
To this day, at 12 noon, 3,195 people have been cared for.
Regarding the profile of the people served since the operation of the IMV bus that has traveled through different autonomous communities, it is noted that 67% are women and 54% had applied for the benefit previously. Among those who had already applied for the IMV, 49% were in the process and, among those who had not applied, 36% was due to ignorance and 32% explained that it was because they thought they did not meet the requirements.
On the motivation of the people who have approached the bus, 72% did so to request information, 24% to resolve doubts and 3% to be accompanied in the processing.
More than half a million households with IMV
The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 560,809 households in which 1,579,949 people live, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security until the end of January.
This benefit, which is paid by the Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since 42.8% of the total beneficiaries are minors (676,288).
