The Government of Spain has increased in two years by 20 percent the economic transfer to the Consells insulars and the Ajuntament de Palma
The Government of Spain has increased the funding of the Consells Insulars and the Ajuntament de Palma by around 20% in the last two years, which, in absolute terms, currently means that these institutions receive, as a whole, from the coffers of the State, some 58 million euros more than in 2023.
In particular, according to the data of the Ministry of Finance, in 2025 € 208,395,122 million will be allocated as account deliveries to the Consells insulars of Mallorca, Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera, compared to € 173,242,868 million in 2023. The distribution of the amount corresponding to the current year is 154.8 M€ for the Council of Mallorca; 22.7 M€ for the Council of Menorca; 28.3 M€ for the Council of Ibiza; and 2.4 M€ for the Council of Formentera. On the other hand, this year the Palma City Council will receive 145.8 M€ per account of the State tax participation system, compared to the 122 M€ obtained in 2023.
During 2025, local entities will receive record account deliveries, 13% higher than in 2024, when they already reached an unprecedented figure. In this way, the Government of Spain once again makes available to these administrations the largest volume of resources in history, expressing its commitment to municipal policies, as highlighted by the government delegate in the Balearic Islands, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal.
