Eladio Santos, deputy delegate of the Government in Ourense, celebrated on Wednesday "the tourism revolution" that represented the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) of the Government of Spain for the province of Ourense, "with an unprecedented investment". This was expressed at the pier of Cortegada, during the presentation of the river routes in ecobarco framed in the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Ourense Termal.
In his speech, Eladio Santos explained that since the PRTR was launched, the Government of Spain invested directly in tourism in the province of Ourense more than 13.8 million euros, of which 8.7 million were for the Tourist Sustainability Plans in Destination (PSTD); 1.3 million for the PID of the Diputación Ourense Cerca de ti; 1.1 million for the intervention of the Parador de Santo Estevo and 2.6 million in the Historical Complex Pazos de Arenteiro. To this aid, we must add more than 10 million euros destined for the Cohesion Action in Destination (ACD) Thermal Reference, of the Autonomous Community of Galicia, most of which is located in the province of Ourense.
With respect, the subdelegate indicated that these plans with millionaire budgets "are revolutionizing the way in which tourism is understood in the province of Ourense". "The Government of Spain is firmly committed to transforming the tourist potential of the province into a real source of economic development, stable employment and national and international projection," he said.
It also highlighted the institutional and "essential" collaboration to carry out innovative projects of this kind. Therefore, apart from direct aid, the Government transferred more than 20 million euros to the Xunta for different lines of aid for energy efficiency in tourist establishments and digital competitions, among other actions. An example of this cooperation is precisely the PSTD Ourense Termal, financed by the Ministry of Tourism (43.56%), the Xunta (43.56%) and the Provincial Council (12.88%) and received 1.4 million euros from the State Secretariat for Tourism.
Thus, Eladio Santos congratulated all the Administrations involved in river routes in ecoboats, which "are a new way to resort to our rivers and get closer to nature". "Initiatives like this have a direct impact on the local economy. They benefit small businesses and producers in the area and help create jobs and fix people in rural areas," he said.
