The deputy delegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, on Tuesday applauded the work done by the Labor Inspection in the province, as it concluded 1,590 files in the first half of this year. He did so during a visit to the offices of the aforementioned agency, after coordinating the follow-up commission between the Provincial Labour Inspectorate and the State Secretariat for Security.
At the meeting, Eladio Santos highlighted the "essential collaboration" between the two agencies and thanked "the rigorous work" of both the Inspection staff and the State Security Forces and Corps. "Thanks to this cooperation it is possible to carry out joint actions that multiply the effectiveness of public resources," he said.
The subdelegate explained that many of the actions carried out by the Labor Inspectorate together with the Civil Guard and the National Police have to do with the work authorizations of foreign people who work for others. "In an increasingly complex and dynamic labor market, this agreement allows us to detect and investigate conduct that violates the law," he said.
After the commission, the subdelegate visited the offices of the Labour Inspectorate, accompanied by the provincial director, Genoveva García. Both addressed the balance of activity of the agency during this year, in which a total of 884 visits to workplaces were made. "There is no decent job without effective legality control," said Eladio Santos.
The deputy delegate congratulated the members of the agency for the action that began in 2022 regarding workers in the delivery of products at home of a well-known business group. Thanks to the action of the Labour Inspectorate, 115 workers in the province were registered with the Social Security. "This government's commitment to labor rights is clear and this action to end false self-employed workers is a clear example," he said.
