The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, today praised the work of dissemination of the Civil Guard, "fundamental to prevent risks in activities practiced in the natural environment". He did so at the exhibition of the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (GREIM) and the Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA) of the Civil Guard of Trives, held this morning before the children of the IV Camp of Speleoloxy Children Green Eagles in the Natural Park of the Serra da Enciña da Lastra, in Rubiá.
In his speech, Eladio Santos stressed the importance of mountain safety, since "enjoying nature also requires taking care of it, as well as knowing its risks and knowing how to act". "That is why the prevention and training work carried out by the Civil Guard is fundamental, especially through GREIM and SEPRONA, whose work saves lives and generates confidence among those who live or visit mountain areas," he stressed.
Practices such as speleoloxy, said the subdelegate, "promote sport and companionship, as well as curiosity and knowledge of our natural heritage." "Activities like this camp awaken vocations and transmit essential values for respect for the environment," he said.
In addition, Santos explained that this exhibition of GREIM and SEPRONA is part of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of Security in Educational Centers and in their Interior Ministry environments, "an essential tool". "Acts like this demonstrate their vitality and ability to reach young people from example and closeness," he added.
Finalmente, el subdelegado quiso poner en valor el Parque Natural de la Serra da Enciña da Lastra, ""n tesoro de biodiversidad y paisaje que debemos proteger". For this reason, he congratulated the group Águilas Verdes and the boys and girls who participated in the activity, because "it is essential to promote this unique and unknown space."
