Eladio Santos, deputy delegate of the Government in Ourense, encouraged on Monday the graduates and graduates in Law who prepare oppositions to apply for the SER Scholarships, which "reflect the commitment of the Government of Spain to a more accessible, inclusive and representative justice of society". He did so during a visit to the Faculty of Law of the Ourense Campus of the University of Vigo, where he met with the dean, Susana Álvarez.
At the meeting, the deputy delegate explained that the government this year allocates 15.6 million euros to the SERA Stock Exchanges, "an unprecedented investment that multiplies tenfold since its launch in 2022." They are incentives of the Government to support the preparation of oppositions of access to the Judicial and Fiscal careers, to the Lawyers Corps of the Administration of Justice and to the State Lawyers Corps.
Santos pointed out that this investment allows a total of 1,300 scholarships to be awarded for an amount of 12,000 euros per year, "a dignified amount to live and study without depending on anyone." The deadline for applying for aid ends on June 23, so those interested and interested who have not yet applied for it have a week to do so. "Money is no longer an obstacle for committed and talented people, which I know there are many in this Faculty," he said.
These scholarships, the deputy delegate added, "have the same spirit as the public university, as they pursue equal opportunities." "I would like to reiterate the support of the Government of Spain for public education and especially thank the work that is done in this Faculty of Law, where there are more than 400 students who acquire knowledge of excellent quality," he stressed.
Microcredentials
On the other hand, the subdelegate and the dean addressed the actions that will be taught in the Faculty of Law with microcredentials, courses financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and approved at European level so that people over 26 years old can acquire different specialties.
Both are committed to offering courses aimed at the work departments of the Government Subdelegation such as gender violence, foreigners or sanctions, among others. "It is a very interesting field of collaboration between the Subdelegation and the Faculty that opens the university to society," Santos said.
Scholarships WILL
The Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts convened 1,300 scholarships, distributed among the various competitions that are the subject of the program. Specifically, 930 scholarships were awarded for the Judicial and Fiscal Careers, 230 scholarships for the Lawyers Corps of the Administration of Justice and 40 scholarships for the State Lawyers Corps. In addition, 100 additional scholarships are included in mixed financial and in-kind assistance (one part is offered directly to the person who prepares and another to the person who opposes its maintenance), which will provide the beneficiaries with complementary support for its preparation.
Interested persons can submit their application before 23:59 hours on June 23 through the electronic office of the Secretary of State for Justice. The objective is to guarantee equal opportunities in access to the high ranks of officials of the Administration of Justice.
