The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, met with Eva Vera, regional director of the Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG) and Maite Serra, local coordinator of the Foundation, to advance in the implementation of the new pilot program promoted by the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory of the Government of Spain with the FSG.
This protocol aims to reduce the barriers that the most disadvantaged gypsy population encounters in access to administrative procedures. For this, two key lines of action will be established: the creation of face-to-face spaces for the Administration in the headquarters of the Foundation, and the provision of a direct channel between FSG professionals and the staff of the General Administration of the State (AGE) to speed up care and accompaniment.
The subdelegate stressed that "the choice of A Coruña as a pilot city to develop this initiative is a recognition of the commitment of this province to inclusion and equality", and stressed that "collaboration between institutions is essential to ensure that no person is left behind in access to their rights".
Through this initiative, the users of the FSG will be able to receive direct attention from Administration staff in the offices of the Foundation, with the aim of facilitating procedures such as obtaining the digital certificate that allows them to carry out their procedures with e-government.
A Coruña is thus joined by the other seven Spanish towns that participate in this pilot phase, among which are Granada, Murcia, Valladolid or Gijón. One more step to make an administration closer, accessible and inclusive for all people.
This action is part of the firm commitment of the Government of Spain for an Administration at the service of the citizens, closer, human and sensitive with the most complex social realities. Through initiatives such as this, the Executive reaffirms its commitment to social cohesion, equal opportunities and the fight against exclusion, from a transformative and people-centred public action.
The protocol that will be implemented is part of the actions of the project “The Administration near you”, a service of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory that was born in November 2022, with the aim of bringing the services of the General Administration of the State closer to the citizens residing in municipalities that do not have physical headquarters of the AGE. “The Administration near you seeks, in short, that the neighbors of a significant part of the national territory can carry out different administrative procedures without having to move from their places of residence, feeling that they are users of public services under equal conditions.
